Nana Greta has walked 1000 miles

This is me near Pulaski in New York State, as I complete 1ooo miles of my walk. I have about 170 to go.

Remember the long line of hay bales covered in white plastic? Not far from them I saw this strange sight peeking out from behind the corn. What do you think it is?
Well, well - someone had fun painting this huge caterpillar complete with antennae.

Here is my friend Tim, who walked almost 100 miles with me, some in PA and some in NY. He is peering into a little house, which I think is a shelter for children to wait in for the school bus when the weather is bad.

Love, Nana Greta

Hello Nana Greta. I just would like to say that I think that what you are doing is what everyone should do. I'm impressed with your courage, and I hope you end your walk succecifully. By the way, I'm Bia, Ms. Hart's 5th grader student in Salvador. Honestly, I try to help the world, but sometimes, like in the morning, I'm so tired that the only thing I can think of is sleep. Please help me to come up with ideas not to spend much water in the morning! Can I give you a suggestion? Instead of a blog you could do a twitter account. Many more people will see it and you'll have more followers. To sign up just go on www.twitter.com and click on sign up. I think the world needs more people like you, that really try to help the world.Congratulations!Tons of luck in the rest of your walk!!

DEAR Nana Greta, I am Marilia from Brazil. I am Ms. Hart new student, here in Pan american school of Bahia, Well I'm in 5th grade. Your idea to take this long walk is very interesting. Ms. Hart showed us the Fox news you were on. How can you walk through so many states in just a few months?? Well, anyway that's incredible!!!! This path your taking is REALY WORKING!! + this is a good leson you are teching us. And you are very corageus to do that 'cause it might be realy hard to walk 2000 miles. Hope you succed on you mission. I appreciate what you are doing.

love and good luck, Marilia

Dear Nana Greta,

My name is Susan, and I'm Ms.Hart's student.
I think you are realy brave, and smart. Because I think only someone that is realy smart would have the idea to do that walk.
My sister, Samantha, she is very concerned about the envirement also. She uses 99 percent of the times recycled paper, she doesn't waste energy, and she uses blackle(a website that is just like google but it uses least energy)
I'm realy glad to have a chance to meet someone that realy does something about the envirement. Another day I saw pictures of the glaciers, and they looked like a beach! Thank you for doing this for us, the granchildren. I realy want to do a walk like this when I grow up!

Kisses
Susan

ps. Good Luck!!!
